Early careers development webinar series

Early careers development webinar series

15th August 2025

How your organisation can engage

IChemE is launching a brand-new Early Careers Development Webinar Series, designed to support graduate engineers, students, and those from non-traditional routes as they begin their professional journey in chemical, biochemical, and process engineering. This initiative is your opportunity to connect with emerging talent, showcase your organisation, and contribute meaningfully to the development of the next generation of engineers.

What is the series about?

Running from September 2025 to June 2026, the series will deliver 16 focused, online sessions that explore the professional and interpersonal skills crucial for early career success, topics like communication, leadership, teamwork, public speaking, and decision-making. Each session is shaped by employer insight and real-world relevance, and is aimed at both engineering students preparing for the workplace and early-career professionals already in industry.

How can Employer Partners get involved?

Each webinar features 2–3 industry speakers drawn from our network of Employer Partners. As a speaker, you’ll share your perspective on the skills your organisation values in early-career professionals and graduates. Formats are flexible, from short-structured talks to fireside chats or Q&A discussions, and full support is provided by the IChemE Regional Engagement Team.

By participating, you will:

  • promote your organisation to a targeted audience of students and early-career engineers
  • showcase your graduate programme and professional development pathways
  • strengthen your employer brand by demonstrating your commitment to developing engineering talent
  • contribute to the wider profession by sharing real-world insights and guidance.

Why this matters

These webinars help bridge the gap between education and employment, reinforce the value of continued IChemE membership, and equip both students and early-career professionals with practical tools for success. Your involvement ensures they hear directly from those working at the heart of industry.
