Roger invented a new type of pump for medical applications, which he thought could be adapted for watering plants.

It worked well, perhaps too well, as his trial orange plants threatened to take over the office window. The plants control the pump, so had ideal watering, however his research team could only equate 80% of the increased growth to the watering. What was contributing to the other 20%?

From what they could work out, it must have been the stimulation from the soil moisture sensor. This was the start of 4 years research into electronics in horticulture at Northop College in north Wales . The results were interesting and sometimes surprising.

There will be a demonstration of the completed system, as well as the original system that start it all off.
