Webinar series

A reliable plant is a safe and profitable plant.

Are you seeking engineering best practices for prolonging equipment life and reducing overall maintenance costs? If yes, then the following webinar series on “Plant Preventative Maintenance” may interest you.

This webinar series is organised by the IChemE Hull & Humber member group and will feature presentations by regulators, industry experts and process safety professionals who will discuss some key features of an effective preventative maintenance programme including good practices and regulatory frameworks, human factors, equipment deterioration mechanisms and remediation measures.

The mechanical assets used across all industries have an integral function for manufacturing or storage of valuable products. These assets should be designed, Installed, commissioned, operated and maintained correctly to ensure continued safe and efficient use.

This presentation starts with an introduction of the regulator and the regulatory framework, the recent regulatory changes to the mechanical aging plant strategic topic as it moves towards asset integrity and the expectation of mechanical maintenance from a regulatory point of view.

The presentation will also cover some recent mechanical and maintenance-based examples of where things have gone wrong.

John Armstrong, Health and Safety Executive

John is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Engineering. Prior to joining the HSE John worked in the chemical / pharmaceutical high hazard industry working across a number of roles in engineering (maintenance, technical support, management, project delivery).
