Brian graduated from Exeter University in 1978 with a BSc in environmental chemical engineering. 

Brian has spent more than forty years of his working life as a process engineer in the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry, for pharmaceutical manufacturing companies and for engineering EPC firms. Predominantly working on engineering design projects, working on all aspects of the design life cycle from concept through to detailed design and ultimately commissioning and validation.

Brian has experience in new product introduction, process improvements, process safety (HAZOP and LOPA) and validation (IQ, OQ and PQ). He has led a process engineering department and has been the lead process engineer on a number of engineering projects. Over the years he has worked for a number of different companies in the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands and Singapore.

Brian has been a Chartered member of IChemE since 1983 and a Fellow since 1996.
