London and South East Coast Members Group visited Sambrook’s back in 2015, which turned out to be one of our most interesting and well-attended brewery tours. So, to start the New Year, they have arranged a revisit to see how things have changed.  

Duncan Sambrook founded Sambrook’s Brewery in 2008 when there were just five breweries operating in London. With his vision of bringing brewing back into the heart of London, Duncan pulled ex-brewer David Welsh out of retirement and back into his dungarees and wellies. Together they converted an old photography studio in Battersea into the brewhouse, and in November 2008 the very first cask of Wandle rolled out the doors. Things have changed a lot in the London beer scene since those early days, but Duncan and his team still produce a host of award-winning beers all from the very same site.

Any charges made for our activities include a modest premium. Any surplus will be used to support Membership Development, Engineering Student and School Outreach activities. We do not aim to make a profit overall. A surplus will only arise if we get a high turnout.
