The presentation will run through the various types of important commercial IP likely to be encountered by chemical engineers, with a focus on patents, the most important type of IP protecting innovation in this space. It will also cover the legal basis for the various IP regimes as well as sharing practical tips and hints to help avoid common issues and maximise the value of IP generated by IChemE members.

Nonny Jones, Partner (Registered UK Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney), Alembia Intellectual Property

Nonny is a European and UK qualified patent attorney with a background in organic and medicinal chemistry and experience of modern pharmaceutical IP from invention capture to patent defence. Following 10 years working in big pharma Nonny helped set up Alembia Intellectual Property, a boutique patent law firm specialising in the protection of life science technology.
