Arda is a student at the University of Surrey pursuing an MEng in Chemical and Process Engineering with an industrial placement year completed at Saint-Gobain in August 2026.

Arda has served as a course representative across the years, and also served as ChemEngSoc President, helping Surrey take their best ever position at Frank Morton 2025. Last year, Arda served as the Events Deputy for the North of England & Wales, organising site tours at United Utilities’ Wastewater Treatment plant and Future Biogas’ Anaerobic Digestion plant.

This year, having moved back down south to continue his studies, Arda will serve as the Events Deputy for the South of England and Wales, and will look forward to continue creating more opportunities for early career chemical engineers to connect, share ideas and grow professionally.

As events deputy, he looks forward to helping create more opportunities for early career engineers to connect, share ideas and grow professionally.

Arda is the Events Deputy for South England & Wales of the NECG UK and Ireland.
