Overview
RAICo (Robotics and AI Collaboration) is a collaboration between government, industry and academia, designed to accelerate the deployment of robotics and AI in key areas of the nuclear industry. Covering operations such as remote handling, size reeducation, AI data and digital infrastructure, RAICo has led the deployment of robotics and AI solutions.
Speaker
Kirsty Hewitson, Director, RACio
Kirsty holds a MChem and a PhD both from the University of Oxford. She has a background in the life sciences sector, working on transitioning technology and innovation into civilian applications. She has also held the position of VP Strategy and Innovation at the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) where she was responsible for identifying, translating and commercialising early-stage technology opportunities.
Kirsty also led the development of NNL’s strategy from clean energy to nuclear medicine. On a volunteer basis, Kirsty was also Strategy Director and Executive Committee member of Women in Nuclear. She is now the director of RAICo.
