Overview
As the demand for clean energy grows, more solar panels and lithium-ion batteries are reaching the end of their life. The solar and battery markets are both experiencing significant growth due to wider adoption of renewable energy sources and electrification. As a result, the volume of decommissioned solar panels and used batteries is projected to increase substantially in coming years, creating a strong need for reliable recycling services.
This seminar will address this challenge by reviewing comprehensive, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective recycling solutions for solar panel and battery manufacturers, installers, and end-users and the emerging market with standards & policies.

John Hill, Director and Co-founder, Pan Pacific Recycling
Mr John Hill is the Director and Co-founder of Pan Pacific Recycling. He is a pioneer in Australia's renewable energy waste management sector, having spent the past two decades developing technology to recover valuable materials from end-of-life solar panels.
John has worked closely with the Smart Energy Council and the Queensland Government to establish the state's first coordinated solar stewardship program. He has also hosted government officials at the company's recycling facility to showcase its critical mineral recovery capabilities.
Pan Pacific Recycling's dedicated Queensland facility, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, ensures the efficient processing of solar panels and other renewable energy waste. As Australia continues to reduce landfill and transition towards a circular economy, the facility plays an important role in recovering valuable resources and supporting sustainable waste management.
