Overview

Queensland, the Sunshine State, is poised to become the Super Power State in the new low-carbon economy. The abundant sunshine, vast bioresources combined with the rich mineral deposits have presented Queensland the best-ever opportunities to lead the economy transformation. However, we need to use the opportunities wisely and cautiously to make it benign and sustainable.

In this event, we have invited the founders of Green Chemistry, the forward thinkers of circular economy, Prof. Paul Anastas (Yale University, USA) and Prof. John C. Warner (Entrepreneur and Distinguished Professor at Monash University), to talk about their vision on the future of chemistry and how to make green materials as commercially viable products.

The seminar also includes a pitch on Pathways to Green Mining from a multi-institutional team, followed by a panel discussion on ‘The Future of Chemistry and the Future of Queensland'.

Time

16:30–20:00 AEST.
