Chaika graduated from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine (UWI) in 2012 with a BSc in chemical and process engineering.

She completed trainee programmes in the fields of agriculture in the public sector, then in reliability engineering at a major LNG producing company in Trinidad and Tobago.

The latter experience piqued her interest in asset management, and Chaika subsequently worked in the field of facilities management and obtained her MSc in engineering asset management from the UWI in 2022.

Chaika currently works as a reliability engineer in the oil and gas sector, where her key focus is asset management, strategy development and maintenance optimisation.
