Webinar: Masterclass: DOE as an Optimisation Tool in Industry and Formulation Science

- Date From 23rd March 2023
- Date To 23rd March 2023
- Price Free of charge, open to all.
- Location Online: 17:00 AST. Duration: 1 hour.
Overview
This webinar will provide an overview into the use of design of experiments (DOE) as it relates to optimisation and formulation science. The class will cover the background, uses and basics of DOE and how it can be applied to industry, and research and development as a means to save time and resources while getting faster time to market, lower development costs, lower operating costs, increased quality control, and more.
This master class is aimed at chemical engineers and other professionals (academics, students, engineers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs) who are seeking easy and cost effective ways of optimising current processing technologies and those who are involved in formulation science/technology of composite/blended materials.
Speaker
Akeem Mohammed, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Chemical Engineering, The University of the West Indies
Akeem holds a PhD in chemical engineering (with high commendation) from the University of the West Indies, specialising in the valorisation of waste materials towards resource circular platforms and sustainable development. He has published extensively in prestigious international journals, showcasing his work with special interest into the use of design of experiments (DOE) as an optimisation and formulation science tool.
He is an assistant lecturer at UWI's Faculty of Engineering's Department of Chemical Engineering and in the Pre-Engineering Program. In addition to his primary job functions, Akeem is an editor in Material Science and Chemistry at Cactus Communications, a science communication and technology company specialising in AI products and solutions. He is a strong supporter of the use of DOE in research and development and industrial applications.
He has numerous years of experience in the training of both local and international academics, students, and industry partners in the use of DOE. Akeem has also done consultancy for major multinational consumer goods companies implementing new strategies via the use of DOE for accelerating and implementing disruptive technologies for future packaging solutions.
