Overview

Concrete is the most consumed man made product and the global cement industry is responsible for around 7% of global CO2 emissions. This webinar will explain the steps the industry is taking to achieve net zero CO2 emissions and increasing the circularity of the construction industry.

This webinar will be of interest to anyone interested in carbon reduction who is currently working on or thinking about a 2050 net zero road map, consumers of concrete who want to learn about opportunities to reduce the embodied carbon in projects and those with a general interest in carbon reduction.

Speaker

Iain Walpole, Hanson UK

Iain Walpole is Environmental Sustainability Mananger for Hanson UK in addition to being a Chartered Chemical Engineer he is a member of IEMA and a CEnv. Iain has 30 years experience in the cement industry mostly in environmental and sustainability roles. For the last 10 years he has been responsible for carbon management across the Hanson UK business covering emissions trading, emission reduction and is currently leading work on a BEIS funded demonstration project for a net zero kiln fuel.
