Oil, Gas and Energy Transition
Sonjoy Sen
Sanjoy is a UK based energy professional with 25 years' experience across a wide range of sectors, including a variety of businesses from start-ups through to multi-nationals. He is currently involved in projects across the Energy and Integrated Transport teams at Costain These projects consider how energy sources (solar, wind, waste material) can meet the needs of energy users (heat, power, transportation), mostly via hydrogen. This includes transport decarbonisation, covering everything from today’s road vehicles to the future of aviation. Sanjoy was also the UK Oil & Gas Authority’s technical lead in the transition to renewable energy. He developed the proposal which secured financial support for the BEIS Regulators' Pioneer Fund to investigate offshore transition concepts; e.g. platform electrification, gas-to-wire, CCS and power-to-gas (hydrogen). He has also worked with various operating companies and the supply chain to unlock value from currently-producing fields and from undeveloped discoveries. This included evaluating new ways of working including innovative commercial and licensing arrangements).”
