Research and Innovation
About us
IChemE's Research and Innovation Special Interest Group provides an international network and forum for members engaged in, or wanting to engage with, research and innovation. Research and innovation are vital to the advancement of chemical engineering to address sustainable development goals and to benefit society. Achieving net zero emissions, tackling persistent environmental contaminants and creating products for a circular economy are just some focus areas for research and innovation by chemical engineers.
The group aims to create a home for members who are passionate about developing and implementing new ideas and technologies, and translating research into successful products and services. The group facilitates interaction and collaboration between academic and other researchers, entrepreneurs and industrial practitioners, to help drive technological innovation, accelerate scale-up of novel technologies and facilitate their maturation to higher technology readiness levels.
The group aims to benefit members – and accelerate the impact of chemical engineering research and innovation – through enhanced collaboration across industrial sectors, exposure to emerging technologies, and insight into innovation funding, policy, and practice.
