Callum Grundy

Callum is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and Principal Innovation Engineer at United Utilities, UK. He holds an MEng in chemical engineering with industrial experience from the University of Manchester. Callum began his career at United Utilities as a process engineering graduate and has since gained broad experience across innovation, engineering, operations, maintenance, commissioning, design, and construction within a multi-billion pound regulated infrastructure asset base.

In his current role, Callum leads the identification, de-risking, and deployment of innovative technologies to address critical challenges in the water sector, including climate resilience, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. He has a track record of embedding innovative solutions into operations to deliver measurable business and environmental benefits. He has contributed to several successful bids for leveraged innovation funding and is a regular speaker on the European wastewater conference circuit.

Beyond his technical work, Callum is an active mentor and serves as a professional reviewer for IChemE, supporting the development of the next generation of chemical engineers.
