Richard is Principal Risk Engineer with Liberty Specialty Markets, an insurance company.  He works on process safety particularly in upstream (inc. wells) and downstream (inc. petrochemical) oil and gas industries.

Prior to this he led the process engineering and process safety engineering disciplines supporting bp's gas assets in Mauritania and Senegal.  He's also worked as a process engineer in oil and gas operational and project settings in the UK North Sea and offshore Angola.

His interests and experience particularly include safety critical operations management systems (e.g. MoC, operating procedures), HAZOP, LOPA and learning from process safety incidents.

Richard is the Safety and Loss Prevention Special Interest Group webmaster.
