Paul Battersby

Paul Battersby (MIEAust, BEng, Grad Dip Ed & Training of Adults, Grad Dip Comp Sc, Adv Dip Management), IChemE Safety Centre, Business Development Manager (Australasia).

Before joining IChemE, Paul was part of the Strategic Partnerships team at The University of Manchester, developing and managing funded research collaborations with global companies. Before moving into Business Engagement roles in the UK, he spent over 20 years lecturing in Engineering Design, CAD, Project and Quality Management and OH&S, in Australia, the UAE and the UK, along with supervising industry-sponsored student project work.

He also consulted with Insurance companies in relation to equipment failure, fire/water damage, and site investigation reports. His engineering career started in the BHP Whyalla Steelworks Safety Engineering team, followed by design, project management, new plant commissioning and production engineering management roles in South Australia.
