ISC Case Study - Laboratory Experiment
The ISC Case Study - Laboratory Experiment is designed to highlight the hazards of work in laboratories as well as introduce the participant to the application of the Sample University Process Safety Management System (PSMS). This PSMS is designed to allow users to experience operational process safety within the university laboratory environment as well as assist in making laboratories a safety environment.
When running the case study each video should be in order and all four videos should be used for the complete story. Between each video is a decision and discussion point with a handout to assist.
It is important to view this case study in a group, to enable discussion to take place between each video, we discourage the ISC Case Studies being viewed in isolation from others.

Process Safety experiences during Industrial Placements for Undergraduate Engineering Students - the diary scheme
Most chemical engineering courses require students to spend some time experiencing relevant work in industry. The Process Safety experiences during Industrial Placements for Undergraduate Engineering Students guide has been produced by the ISC to provide advice on how that time can be used to improve the students education and understanding of process safety management.
The diary form consists of Part A and Part B. At the end of the work placement the student and supervisor complete the diary form. Part A of the diary form is an overall summary of the level of competency achieved in each element and Part B is used to detail the activities that were undertaken and the student's competency development.
