Neil has spent his career in the energy sector, transitioning through heat exchanger development and design, vehicle power batteries, and all elements of the nuclear fuel cycle.

Following senior roles at the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (NII) and OECD’s Nuclear Energy Agency, he now works at the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) where he has been the Science Assessment Head for new reactor projects, led the framework development and guidance for the new UK Nuclear Safeguards Regulator and is currently the lead chemical engineering specialist inspector for Sellafield.

As the Energy Lead for IChemE’s Learned Society, he led the development of its climate change position statement.
