Process Safety Series: Communicating Process Safety - Webinar

10 October 2019

Trish Kerin will be presenting a webinar for the Chemical Processing Process Safety Series on Communicating Process Safety.

The communication of process safety has often been a very difficult topic. As engineers we feel more comfortable dealing in data and detail, talking about risk numbers and quantitative assessments, but this means very little to the people who make investment decisions. So to get our voices heard we need to learn to communicate about what the risk is, without resorting to numerical justification. We need to learn to ‘tell the story’ of the risk, which means we need to communicate in ways that others can relate to. This webinar will discuss ways to ‘tell the story’ of risk so that others can relate and understand.

Process Safety Series: Process Safety Culture - Webinar

5 December

Trish Kerin will be presenting a webinar on Process Safety Culture for the Chemical Processing Process Safety Series.

There is a never ending debate about organisation culture and safety culture and whether these are any different. From a process safety perspective we then try to talk about a specific culture as well. There are also many different culture measurement tools available. This webinar will explore whether process safety culture is any different to other organisational cultures and how to try and positively influence the overall culture. It will look at both leadership impact as well as a bottom up approach and explore the impact of organisational structure on culture.
