Overview

The NECC will be hosting two guest speakers to discuss their research with a focus on how it has led them through their career path since. Looking at both benefits and consequences of their PhD in enabling them to do so.

Speakers

Dr Leighton Holyfield, Energy Consultant, Kiwa Energy

Dr Leighton Holyfield completed his thesis at the University of Bath in 2018. This PhD was focussed on the development of a composite adsorbent material, made up of a polymer of intrinsic micro porosity and a metal organic framework, for use in a high pressure hydrogen storage tank.. Since then, he has spent several years working roles as a Process Engineer for Flexible Process Consultants and as an Energy Consultant at Kiwa UK.

Dr Oluchi Emenike, Project Engineer, Fichtner Consulting Engineers Ltd

Dr Oluchi Emenike completed her thesis at the University of Sheffield in 2021. This PhD was titled a "Technical, Economic, Environmental Assessment of Energy Generation using Bio-energy with Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage. Since then, she has spent a year working as a Project Engineer for Fichtner Consulting Engineers based in Stockport.
