Overview
Innovation can be taught and learned via TRIZ. It doesn't not depend on personal creativity. The TRIZ is a structured process use to solve complex technical challenges and assist solvers or inventors to generate better solutions. A contradiction matrix with the 40 principles of solving technical contradictions and TRIZ is a useful tool adopted for new product development, product improvement for industry and final year research project or advanced design project for students. Challenges and opportunities using the TRIZ in teaching and learning will be discussed including how the TRIZ was used together with the CDIOTM education framework for teaching and learning purposes. The important checklist for the end of conceiving, designing, implementation and operating stages will be shared during the webinar.
This webinar is mainly aimed at engineers, educators, chemists and chemical engineers and students.
Speaker
Chong Chien Hwa, University of Nottingham Malaysia
Chong is the Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering programme at University of Nottingham Malaysia. He is a TRIZ level 2 practitioners and served as peer reviewer for creative or innovative courses for IChemE. His research incorporated design thinking, discovering of new materials and innovate using some contradiction matrix principles from TRIZ. In addition, he uses TRIZ together with CDIO education framework in student's assignment and project consultation for a decade.
