Overview

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is widely viewed as essential if we are to succeed in making the significant reductions in global CO2 emissions necessary to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. The technology closest to widespread implementation is solvent based capture and this webinar offers a brief introduction to the various incarnations of this approach.

CCS has been attracting increasing levels of attention in the news and wider media of late and this webinar is aimed at anyone who is interested in the technology behind it. By the end of the talk, delegates will have a better appreciation of the concepts behind solvent based carbon capture and the remaining challenges to widespread adoption and implementation.

Speaker

Dr. Douglas Barnes, C-Capture Ltd.

Douglas is C-Capture's Head of Chemistry having worked for the company since completing his PhD studies in 2011. In this role he leads the lab based development of C-Capture's proprietary CCS solvent technology and is instrumental in the company's wider effrts to scale up the technology for widespread deployment.

Format

A one-hour online session: 40 minutes' presentation + 20 minutes' Q&A.
Duration (for CPD recording purposes): up to one hour.

If you are recording mandatory CPD you should refer to your own regulator's requirements as recognition of CPD hours may vary.
