Overview

All members of the Sustainability Special Interest Group are invited to attend the 2021 Annual Meeting.

The presentation will focus on reactor design, and in particular on the development of the Spinning Mesh Disc Reactor (SMDR). It will also present how 12 years of research and development into the SMDR has been turned into a spin-off company.

Speaker

Emma Emanuelsson, University of Bath

Emma is a senior lecturer at the University of Bath. Her research focus is in the area of sustainable chemical technologies, with a strong focus on reactor design and the development of nanofiltration membranes. She has been an independent academic since 2007 where she started her academic career at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She has worked at the University of Bath since 2011. She launched her spin-off company, SMDR Ltd in 2020.

Her presentation will focus on reactor design, and in particular on the development of the Spinning Mesh Disc Reactor (SMDR). She will also present how she turned 12 years of research and development into the SMDR into a spin-off company.
