Professional Review cycle

Each Professional Review cycle takes three months to complete (from application deadline to election decision). Keeping to this time frame requires both the applicant and the professional reviewers to stay on schedule. Dates for upcoming cycles are listed below.

Planning your application

Process overview

  • following the submission deadline, we will confirm that your application has been accepted and send you an interview date (subject to professional reviewer availability)
  • the professional reviewers will assess your Competence and Commitment (C&C) Report
    • if your report is assessed as satisfactory, you will be sent further details about the interview (date, time, Microsoft Teams link etc)
    • if assessed as unsatisfactory, the reviewers may ask you to revise your C&C report. If this happens, you will receive feedback via email on the changes needed so you can revise, re-verify, and return the C&C report within two weeks
  • once a final decision has been made following the Virtual Election Panel meeting, we will let you know the outcome
    • if successful, you will need to pay any outstanding fees (eg registration fees). A welcome letter, certificate and membership card will be sent in due course
    • if unsuccessful, you will be sent detailed feedback for a future application.

1Although we aim to progress applications as quickly as possible, our processing capacity is dependent on the volume of applications received. For this reason, we cannot guarantee to include your application within a particular Professional Review cycle.

2It’s important that the two week deadline is met so your application can proceed within the relevant cycle. If the deadline is not met, your application may be closed; any application fees paid will not be refunded.
