Ashok Kumar Fellowship
The Ashok Kumar Fellowship was established in memory of Ashok Kumar, a Fellow of IChemE and Labour MP for Middlesbrough South and Cleveland East, UK. He died suddenly in 2010 and at the time, he was the only Chartered Chemical Engineer in the UK House of Commons.
The Fellowship allowed for a UK post-graduate student in chemical, biochemical and process engineering to spend three months at the UK Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (POST), researching and writing a briefing note (also known as a POSTnote) to inform MPs and key leaders in policy for them to make evidence-based decisions on policy issues.
This Fellowship ended in 2018 due to a lack of funding. More information can be found on the fact checker.
