Sravani Gupta
Dr. Sravani Gupta is a Senior Scientist at the Bioeconomy Sciences Institute, New Zealand, specialising in food safety and food processing technologies. With a PhD in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Auckland, her research focuses on climate-resilient food safety, including mitigating emerging microbial risks such as Vibrio spp. She leads work on sustainable, non-thermal decontamination and green technologies to enhance food safety, product quality, and supply chain resilience, both in fresh produce and seafood. Dr. Gupta also contributes to international food safety initiatives across the Asia-Pacific through New Zealand Ministry of Foreign affairs and Trade (MFAT) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded projects and plays a key role in advancing food safety solutions for novel food systems, including cell-based proteins.
