Overview
This course will help you to develop your understanding of digitalisation and its application to the chemical, process and biochemical industries.
It will benefit anyone involved in the design, operation, modification or maintenance of process plant, who would like to develop their digitalisation knowledge across a broad range of topics.
The course uses a mix of interactive exercises and workshops, case studies and theory to examine all core aspects of digitalisation.

By the end of this course, you will:
- understand the key principles of digitalisation and how they relate to the chemical, process and biochemical industries
- recognise the opportunities and risk associated with digitalisation
- understand the key factors influencing uptake and utilisation of digital technologies
- develop basic technical fluency including information and database fundamentals, architectures and architectural components, methods, processes and algorithms, cyber-physical systems, and management systems and processes
- understand what is required for successful implementation and adoption of digital technologies and digital transformation programmes, and why most people/companies fail
- understand how to acquire further knowledge and understanding of the topics covered on the course.

Course delivery
Online
Online courses consist of three live and interactive modules with the trainer, each lasting 3.5 hours. There will also be some work to complete independently before the course and between the live sessions. More details will be provided after you have registered.
Live sessions are delivered via Microsoft Teams. If you don't already have this installed, you can join as a guest in order to access the training.
Face-to-face
Face-to-face courses are delivered over three days.

Attendance certificate and CPD hours
An e-certificate will be issued at the end of the course to confirm attendance and CPD hours logged. Please note that you must attend the whole course to receive the certificate.
In the case of online courses, CPD hours should be used as an approximate guide and will vary depending on the preferred approach of the delegate and to what extent additional learning is completed.
