Process Safety Performance Indicators

Online | Face-to-face | In-company
Overview
Major incidents continue to occur in the process industries, yet many investigations reveal shortcomings where using process safety performance indicators (PSPI), aligned with effective process safety management systems, could have reduced the risk of such an occurrence. These investigations also often identify previous incidents and near misses of lower consequence where due to either poor accident reporting and/or investigation the opportunity to prevent the future incident has been missed.
This new course will explore good practice and current thinking regarding process safety performance indicators. Delegates will, where applicable, be encouraged to reflect on their current process safety performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement. Others may be putting in place process safety performance indicators for the first time or seeking renewed focus on existing indicators.
In addition, this course will focus on the importance of robust accident reporting and investigation management systems with particular emphasis on process safety incidents.
This course will help you understand how to improve the overall effectiveness of process safety performance indicators, as part of an effective process safety management system. It features practical workshops and uses past incident case studies to demonstrate how PSPIs and robust process safety management review processes could have reduced the risk of these incidents.
