IChemE announces 2025 Global Awards finalists

19th September 2025

IChemE is delighted to announce the 2025 Global Awards finalists. All winners will be announced at the IChemE Global Awards Dinner in Manchester, UK on 20 November.

More than 100 companies from 23 countries submitted entries to this year’s Awards programme and Head Judge Jamie Cleaver says the standard was exceptionally high: “I am once again in awe of the quality and diversity of entries from around the world.  It strikes me that our beloved profession is thriving in the development and application of ingenious and innovative technology, and it is constantly finding new and improved ways of working.  The Global Awards entries continue to inspire me.”

The best overall entry will be presented with the Outstanding Achievement in Chemical and Process Engineering Award sponsored by ExxonMobil at the Global Awards Dinner in Manchester, UK on 20 November, along with all other award winners.

Widely recognised as the world’s most prestigious chemical engineering awards programme, the IChemE Global Awards brings together one of the largest gatherings in the UK of those working in, and contributing to, chemical, biochemical and process engineering around the world.

We are incredibly grateful to the sponsors for the 2025 awards, including: adi Group, ChemUK, Exxon Mobil, Johnson Matthey, Rolls-Royce, PM Group, Sellafield Ltd, Shell and SLR Consulting. Ahead of the Awards Dinner, IChemE will host an afternoon showcase event where finalists can network and discuss their submissions. All members and Awards Dinner attendees are warmly invited to take the opportunity to meet the entrants, engage with sponsors, and explore the innovative work being celebrated.

The following day, attendees can also participate in a series of free CPD sessions covering key topics such as digitalisation, scale-up, contracts, and management skills—offering valuable professional development alongside the celebrations.

What is chemical engineering?

Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, mathematics and economics in the process of turning raw materials into everyday, and more specialist, products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Energy, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the industry sectors and products where chemical engineering plays a central role.

IChemE

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) advances chemical engineering's contribution for the benefit of society. We facilitate the development of chemical engineering professionals and provide connections to a powerful network of around 32,000 members in more than 100 countries.

We support our members in applying their expertise and experience to make an influential contribution to solving major global challenges, and are the only organisation permitted to award Chartered Chemical Engineer status and Professional Process Safety Engineer registration.
