Registrations open for Advances in the Digitalisation of the Process Industries Conference

9th July 2025
Artificial intelligence, process automation and digital twins top the agenda at IChemE’s Digitalisation Conference in Manchester this October.
Advances in the Digitalisation of the Process Industries takes place on 16–17 October 2025. Returning by popular demand after a four-year hiatus, the event is designed for engineering and process industry professionals working in cybersecurity/safety, digitalisation, information management, process automation, process control, process modelling and process simulation.
Plenary speakers include Costas Pantelides, Chief Technology Officer at Siemens Process Automation Software; Valentijn de Leeuw, ARC Advisory Group Vice President; and Sarat Kumar Reddy Molakaseema, Chief Architect Officer at UniversalAutomation.org.
Additional speakers include practitioners from Johnson Matthey, PETRONAS and British Sugar. The conference also features a presentation from the Health and Safety Executive on understanding how AI is used by industry in HSE regulated sectors.
We are delighted to announce a new Conference Partner: Hexxcell, a leading provider of digital solutions for industrial heat transfer systems.
Conference co-chair Zaid Rawi says: “I’m really excited to explore the latest applications of digitalisation in the process industries – from digital twins to advanced process automation – along with the data, models and technologies that enable them. I’m looking forward to insightful discussions that can help accelerate adoption across the sector.”
Key conference themes include: advanced process automation, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data management, digital risk management, digital twin technology, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
View the programme and register to attend. IChemE members benefit from reduced registration rates.
A limited number of exhibition spaces remain available. Organisations interested in sponsoring or exhibiting at the event should contact Ian Carter at Media Shed.

What is chemical engineering?
Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, mathematics and economics in the process of turning raw materials into everyday, and more specialist, products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Energy, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the industry sectors and products where chemical engineering plays a central role.
IChemE
The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) advances chemical engineering's contribution for the benefit of society. We facilitate the development of chemical engineering professionals and provide connections to a powerful network of around 32,000 members in more than 100 countries.
We support our members in applying their expertise and experience to make an influential contribution to solving major global challenges, and are the only organisation permitted to award Chartered Chemical Engineer status and Professional Process Safety Engineer registration.
