An online technical talk about the McVitie’s factory in Carlisle.

The presenter will be delivering an engaging virtual technical talk about the factory in Carlisle. This will include an insight into their role and a look into how the various processes work to produce biscuits with videos of equipment operating.

Speaker

Sarah Conley, Process Development Manager, McVitie’s

Sarah gained a BSc in Nutrition at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. She worked for Bakkavor as an intern after university and then spent 7 years as a Process Development Technologist at 2 Sisters Food Group where she was responsible for launching products for Marks and Spencer, including Gastro Smoked Haddock Florentine and cottage pie amongst the many ready meals that were made in Carlisle. She is now now Process Development Manager at Pladis (since 2021) - the company behind brands such as Carr’s, Jacob’s and McVitie's. Her main roles include being responsible for the implementation of new products/technology or process improvement initiatives, managing product and process specifications and supporting factory with everyday escalations.
