About us

The London and South East Coast Member Group is the Institution’s largest local network, representing over 3,000 chemical engineers across Greater London, Kent, South Essex, and East Sussex.

We bring members together to learn, connect, and share knowledge through technical talks, networking sessions, industrial site visits, and social events. Alongside this, we support members working towards Chartership, offer careers support, and provide clear opportunities for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

We also engage in outreach with schools and collaborate with universities, local industries, and other IChemE groups. Working closely with the London and South East Coast Young Members Forum (YMF) regional group, we provide opportunities for all career stages - helping chemical engineers build skills, expand networks, and contribute to the wider community.

There are many ways to get involved: attend our events to meet peers and hear from industry experts, join site visits to gain first-hand insight, volunteer with outreach activities to inspire the next generation, or take part in Chartership and career support sessions. You can also join the committee to help shape the group’s direction. We welcome speakers, organisers, mentors, and anyone keen to share their experience or ideas.
