Overview

The London and South East Coast Young Members Group is hosting an inter-university quiz competition for chemical engineering students.

This event brings together undergraduate chemical engineering students from universities across London and the South East for an evening of friendly competition, networking, and technical challenge.

What to expect:

• a lively quiz featuring chemical engineering–related questions
• an opportunity to test technical knowledge in a relaxed and engaging environment
• networking with students from other universities and members of the IChemE community
• refreshments provided at the end of the session.

Each participating university is invited to send a team of three undergraduate students (Year 1–Year 3) to represent their department.

This competition offers an excellent opportunity to connect with the wider chemical engineering community while showcasing knowledge and teamwork.

Mojtaba Sidiqi, Graduate Engineer

Mojtaba is a graduate engineer working in the waste industry. He graduated from Queen Mary University of London with an MEng in chemical engineering in 2023. During his graduate programme, involvement IChemE activities, particularly networking events and technical sessions proved highly valuable. This experience motivates continued engagement with the young members community and support for current undergraduate students to access similar opportunities.

Sakiru Badmos, Lecturer, University College London

Sakiru is a lecturer (teaching) in chemical engineering at University College London. He serves as chair of the London and South East Coast Young Member Group and contributes to the organisation and delivery of a range of IChemE activities and student engagement events across the region.
