Alex works for Sellafield Ltd as a technical manager, leading the delivery of new technologies for monitoring of nuclear waste packages.

His previous work areas include developing and delivering technology for a major new plant at Sellafield; technical manager for spent fuel drying projects; producing the Sellafield integrated waste strategy and effluent strategies; feasibility assessment of the new ventilation stack at Sellafield; design work for waste treatment plants; waste management during decommissioning of the Capenhurst site.

Alex has also spent several years working in aerospace in the UK and US on technology development for Serck Aviation, who manufacture compact heat exchangers for jet engines. Alex holds an MEng in chemical and process engineering and is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of IChemE.

Alex is a STEM Ambassador, Chair of Governors for a primary school, and in his spare time he plays trumpet in several jazz bands.
