Sam is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Master's degree in chemical engineering with chemistry from the University of Manchester.

Sam is a Battery Recycling Business Manager at R S Bruce Metals and Machinery, where he leads the company's lithium-ion battery recycling business.

Prior to this, Sam was head of engineering and research at Axion Group; in this role, he led the consulting division on a variety of projects in the waste management and recycling sector.
