Overview

Turning the spotlight on the potential damage a cyber attack would bring to companies and people (reputationally, financially and importantly with regards to safety), this talk considers the fast-paced and ever-evolving threat of cyber security and help guide you through some of the current challenges facing organisations in this industry.

We’ll be discussing topics such as HSE OG86, Cyber Security Management Systems (CSMS) and current challenges within the industry concerning Cyber.

Presenter

Ben Dickinson, Cyber Security Consultant, ABB

Ben Dickinson recently joined ABB as a Cyber Security Consultant to help ABB and clients secure their systems from the threat of cyber-attacks.

He joined ABB from the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of GCHQ, a world leader in the field of Cyber Security, where he spent time building an excellent reputation with owners and operators of the UK's Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) by advising them in preparing for, detecting, responding and recovering from cyber-attacks.

Ben brings a wealth of experience from his time with GCHQ which will ensure ABB deliver market leading Cyber Security Services across multiple sectors. He specializes in understanding the unique challenges posed by securing Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS).

Ben holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Security from the University of Liverpool and has also studied specialist Industrial Control Systems Cyber Security courses such as "Assessing and Exploiting Control Systems" by Justin Searle, "SANS 515: Industrial Control System Active Defense and Incident Response" by Robert Lee and "Hardware Hacking" by Grand Idea Studio.
