Overview

The HyDeploy programme has been safely and successfully operating the UK’s first hydrogen blending demonstration on a private gas network at Keele University since October 2019, supplying a hydrogen blend to 100 homes and 30 university facilities. Alongside this, a comprehensive evidence base has been developed and submitted to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) UK government agency for assessment, with the ambition of being granted the first hydrogen blending approval for a public network. The next phase of HyDeploy will consist of a demonstration on a public network owned by Northern Gas Networks, in Winlaton, Gateshead, UK. If HSE approval is granted, this trial will take place at the end of 2020 and will supply a hydrogen blend to 670 home

Speaker

Tommy Isaac is the principal engineer for Progressive Energy Ltd and project manager of HyDeploy. A dual chartered engineer, with both the IChemE and IMechE, Tommy was globally the youngest chartered chemical engineer in 2018 and was the recipient of the IChemE Young Industrialist award in 2019. He is an active committee member of the Clean Energy SIG, the British Standards Institution (BSI), and Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM). He is also a member of various energy-related parliamentary advisory groups.

A one-hour online session: 40 minutes' presentation + 20 minutes' Q&A.
Duration (for CPD recording purposes): up to one hour.

If you are recording mandatory CPD you should refer to your own regulator's requirements as recognition of CPD hours may vary.
