- Date From 9th October 2025
- Date To 9th October 2025

- Location Online: 08:30 BST. Duration: 1 hour.
Overview
A presentation from the winners of the YEAIS quality education category, to share the learning they have gained through the enhancement of the Sellafield work experience scheme. This will hopefully provide useful advice that enables others to pursue similar programmes and inspire future chemical engineers.
During the presentation we will introduce the scheme and discuss the key factors that make it a success. We will talk about how these key factors could be applied to other work experience schemes, university open days and outreach events. We will also demonstrate how we collect feedback from students and how this has been used to continuously improve the scheme.
Speakers
- Benjamin Hilton, Graduate Chemical and Process Engineer, Sellafield Ltd
- Joseph Carter, Graduate Chemical and Process Engineer, Sellafield Ltd
Both Benjamin and Joe are 2nd year graduate chemical engineers. They have had a variety of experiences across the company, completing secondments in design, plant/reliability engineering and technical roles. They are now coming to the end of our scheme and will be moving into full time roles within the design community. Previously, they both completed Industrial placement schemes with Sellafield during university.
