Overview

This webinar follows one in 2020 that outlined the various levers the cement and concrete industry have to achieve net zero. The webinar will focus on the use of Hydrogen as part of a net zero fuel mix in cement production and the development of carbon capture at Hanson's Padeswood Cement Plant and the links to the HyNet industrial cluster.

Speakers

Iain Walpole, Padeswood CCS Project Manager, Hanson Cement

Iain is a chartered chemical engineer with over 30 years'  experience in the cement industry many of them working on decarbonising the manufacturing process he has been leading on the Padeswood carbon capture project for the last three years.

Rachel Sutton, HyNet Project Manager, Progressive Energy

Rachel is a chartered chemical engineer with extensive experience in the chemicals manufacturing industry with ExxonMobil, during which time she held a wide range of technical and leadership roles.

After taking a career break to explore the world’s wilderness, Rachel redirected her skillset and passion into tackling the climate challenge and joined Progressive Energy in 2020 as the Project Manager for HyNet North West. She now manages a consortium of partners in the development and delivery of this ground-breaking and complex decarbonisation project.
