POPSIG management paid a courtesy visit to MBA

Overview

The Chairlady Yang Berbahagia Professor The Chair Professor Ir Dr Chong Mei Fong led POPSIG management to pay a courtesy visit to Wilma FMM and greeted the President of Malaysian Biodiesel Association (MBA) in Kuala Lumpur on Monday 21 August 2023.

POPSIG management team was represented by:

Topics of discussion

  1. POPSIG welcomed the collaboration with MBA on technical activities for industrial players.
  2. The Chairlady welcomes MBA representatives to participate at POPSIG University Roadshow to raise the awareness on the advanced biodiesel industry.
  3. Mr Ting shared that POPSIG had organised university roadshow on biodiesel delivered by the representatives from Genting Biorefinery Sdn Bhd and Sime Darby Oils Biodiesel.
  4. Mr Unnithan welcomes university students to participate at the 4th Biodiesel Conference in October.
  5. Mr Ting shared about the latest industrial development on palm-derived biodiesel in the EU region.
  6. Mr Unnithan hoped POPSIG management team can organise events to address ILUC risks at global level.
  7. The Chairlady discussed about the potentials to support postgraduate students on biodiesel development study.
  8. Mr Long explored about the possibility to recruit the students and graduates to join the biodiesel sector.

About Malaysian Biodiesel Association

Malaysian Biodiesel Association (MBA) was established on September 2, 2008 and consist of members, located in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. MBA was primarily established to represent the interest of the biodiesel industry in Malaysia. The association works closely and represents the industry in government dialogues, forums and committees.
