Overview

The concept of a Multi-Purpose Dynamic Simulator (MPDS) aims to optimize the utilization and the benefits of dynamic process models across the plant lifecycle. As such, it serves as a valuable tool from initial stages in design and development of greenfield projects up to operational and sustain stages.

Throughout the project lifecycle of a process plant, there are multiple applications of dynamic process simulation. The concept of MPDS aims at re-using initial dynamic process models created for Engineering Design Support in later project stages – allowing for the de-risking of greenfield projects through:

  • Virtual control system commissioning
  • Validation of Control Philosophy and Operating Procedures
  • Availability of a Process Trainer for Process & Commissioning Engineers
  • Accelerated operational excellence through early operator training – prior to start-up
  • Real-Time Simulator: Online Digital Process Twin.

During the presentation, the InProcess Team will share their experience from multiple MPDS projects in Oil & Gas Upstream projects.
