Overview

The ever-growing concern for global warming and expanding endeavours to reduce our carbon footprint have led to the acceleration of certain energy sectors and technologies. Hydrogen is one of these sectors, with a great promise for a greener energy future. However, as with any other new industry or endeavour, the risks are not well known and costly mistakes, perhaps due to uncontrolled events, can take place.

The aim of this webinar is to present the findings of a review conducted by AMOG Consulting of hydrogen incident databases and information sources, as well as to present the project lifecycle phases the various incidents have their root and contributory causes to, and apply any learnings to future design safety planning.

Presenter

Laurentiu Zamfiresc, Consultant, AMOG Consulting

Laurentiu is a career risk and safety and process safety engineer, with close to 15 years of experience. He currently works as a consultant for AMOG Consulting in a lead engineering role. His previous experience comes from regulating major hazard facilities / SEVESO / COMAH sites in Europe and Australia.

He is a Professional Process Safety Engineer with IChemE, a Chartered Engineer with the Safety and Reliability Society, and a Certified Functional Safety Engineer.

Laurentiu is also an active contributor to the IChemE Safety Centre and other similar organisations advancing process safety worldwide, volunteering for the development of publications and other resources.
