Macnab-Lacey Student Design Prize
IChemE ran the Macnab-Lacey Student Design Prize for the tenth year in 2019 with entries from Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and UK.
We are running the award again for academic year 2019/20 with the same criteria as last year which successfully attracted more entries. We are keen to encourage entries from traditional design projects and have included some examples of what the judges will look for from such entries. Sustainability should be a key feature of undergraduate education and to reinforce this the competition will as usual focus on sustainability issues as the judging criteria.
Sustainability Teaching Award
IChemE under the joint auspices of the Sustainability and Education Special Interest Groups is running the Sustainability Teaching Award to encourage the teaching of sustainability to undergraduate chemical engineers again this year with new criteria.
The objectives of the award are to:
- encourage teachers to think of sustainability as a key element of their lecture courses
- influence Chemical Engineering Departments to position sustainability at the heart of the curriculum
- provide a showcase for teaching talent and reward achievement in the field of sustainability education
- demonstrate that IChemE takes sustainability seriously.
The winners will receive a presentation certificate.
