Jay is an innovation projects manager at Anglian Water, focusing on clean water research. He has a background is in environmental chemistry and materials science, including a PhD from Imperial College London in the detection and removal of arsenic from contaminated groundwaters in South Asia.
Between 2021 and 2024 he was the co-founder and chief technology officer of Untap Health, a company specialising in automated biochemistry platforms for the detection of pathogens in wastewater (wastewater surveillance).
Jay joined Anglian Water in 2024, and his current areas of interest include catchment management (remote sensing and algae), water treatment (DOC removal, PFAS, advanced oxidation processes, taste and odour), analytical chemistry, and distribution networks.
