Jo is the Trial Reservoir Director, Isle Utilities & Founding Director at Tech Ascend Foundation. She has more than two decades of experience in the water and wastewater sectors in the UK and South Africa.

Her innovation expertise has enabled her to drive the development, adoption, and implementation of technology, while also supporting investment initiatives. She has successfully led teams of research scientists and engineers, crafted strategic plans including South Africa’s National Water Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Roadmap 2015–2025, influenced policy reform, and facilitated both applied and academic research.

With a robust global network of established connections, Jo has shared her insights on innovation at both national and international forums. Her extensive knowledge of the water industry equips her to understand its challenges, drawing from her experience in private and public organisations, making her adept at navigating the unique obstacles each type of organisation encounters.
