Kate Silverton to host IChemE Global Awards

Journalist Kate Silverton is to host the Institution of Chemical Engineers' (IChemE) Global Awards on 6 November 2014.

Kate is one of the BBC’s main anchors for the One, Six and Ten O’clock News as well as presenting and reporting across a wide range of prime time programmes, including the BBC’s flag ship current affairs programme Panorama.

A graduate of Durham University in the UK, she holds a BSc in Psychology, specialising in child development. Before that she studied Arabic and Middle Eastern history.

The IChemE Global Awards, in association with Saudi Aramco, celebrate innovation and excellence in the chemical and process industries. The event is being held at Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire, UK, on 6 November 2014.

Kate will be joined by over 500 guests and will be presenting awards in 16 categories, including the overall Award for Outstanding Achievement in Chemical and Process Engineering won last year by Queen’s University Ionic Liquid Laboratories Research Centre (QUILL), in partnership with PETRONAS, for their gas clean-up technology.
