Jane Atkinson

Jane Atkinson CBE is Chief Operating Officer for Enfinuim, one of the largest pure-play waste to energy operators in the UK.

She began her career in 1990 with British Steel. During this period, she managed many of their assets in Teesside, UK, and Mobile and Tuscaloosa, USA. Jane then moved into power generation as Senior Vice President of all Sembcorp UK’s assets on the Wilton International site. After 19 years in plant operations, Jane then moved to Cape plc. Whilst at Cape, Jane was Statutory Director and responsible for global delivery of all of Cape Specialist Services. In 2017, following acquisition of Cape, Jane became Transformation Director creating the UK’s largest industrial service provider; Altrad Services UK with a turnover of £600m. In 2019 she then moved to Bilfinger UK Ltd as Executive Director Engineering and Automation and Capital Projects.

Jane has won several awards, most notably the UK’s No. 1 Most Influential Woman in Engineering in the UK 2019, the CBI’s First Women Award in Manufacturing and the prestigious Stephenson’s Award for inspiring young people in science and engineering. In 2020, Jane received a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for Services to Chemical Engineering.
