GSK had two accredited training schemes running in the Pharma Supply Chain (PSC) and in Research and Development (R&D).
Pharma Supply Chain (PSC) is responsible for making and supplying GSK pharmaceuticals products around the globe. In 2017 GSK produced over 2 billion packs of medicine from our network of 34 sites in 20 countries.
PSC is involved with every stage of production from the infrastructure of the manufacturing sites, supply forecasting, regulatory inspections and the quality of the product for pharma.
PSC is responsible for the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s) and drug products in a diverse number of dose forms including Oral Solid Dose, Liquids, Creams & Ointments and Respiratory Devices.
Research & Development (R&D) is responsible for developing and implementing processes to supply innovative medicines to patients for clinical trials and for transferring manufacturing processes to PSC.
R&D covers the entire development process from initial drug discovery through establishing the processing route and formulation, to scale-up for clinical trials and establishment of a robust and reliable process to meet international regulatory requirements and assure product quality for patients in long-term commercial manufacturing. Our pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products cover a wide range of therapeutic areas.
